The success story of francis & francis began in 2006, the year when the founder and owner of our label, Franziska “Franzi” Ospelt, journeyed to New York City. She returned with a unique self-made cardboard bag and an idea. She drew her inspiration for this from a seemingly everyday sight in NYC – piles of cardboard boxes, which still define the cityscape of the Big Apple in the early morning.

Songs like “I Did It My Way” and “New York State of Mind” were written for NYC. For people who go their own way, who are up front and who love anything out of the ordinary. It’s precisely for such people that the small team assembled around the founder designs and makes francis & francis bags with great passion and commitment in a charming workshop… and ships them all over the world today. The secret is probably that these bags are more than just an accessory. They’re a statement on how unique life can be.
