Mykonos: Narrow Streets, Beach and Party
Hello Mykonos! Mykonos welcomes Francis and her family and friends with sun, heat and narrow streets. In the hotel the Greek receive them warmly as well. Some relaxing days with sun, beach, and a bit of party – we are in Mykonos – lie ahead.
The hotel is nice, the beach cosy and the pool refreshing. Some relaxing time can be spent here. But of course, Francis and her family want also to discover Mykonos Town and the island. A jeep is booked, and day trips to different places of the islands – especially beaches – are driven. Mykonos is perfect for beach-hopping!
Sun, heat and excursions evoke hunger and thirst. And…food is good on the island. A highlight, as Francis tells me, were the Dumbo-Shrimps. She talks to me about a place called BAKALO Greek Eatery in Mykonos Town. The restaurant is an insider tip, a dinner there definitely to be planned when going to Mykonos Town. Mykonos Town in general dispenses the typical greek flair: white houses with blue doors and windows, narrow streets made from stones and a lot of artisans and handicrafts.
For a cocktail, a must-visit is Little Venice. Colorful houses follow one another, in each of the houses, elegant bars and restaurants can be found. It’s the perfect place to watch the sunset and sip a cocktail. Not to forget the party afterwards. Some of the big parties take place at the paradise beach. Quite some corks pop in the night (and not only in the nights).
It has to be admitted, the places are really nice, and the Greek are very friendly hosts. Chance is high to come across and recognize some famous faces from time to time. However, after some drinks in the evening, the beach is just the right option for the next morning. And with the Starlight bag, Francis is well prepared for the beach.

Hallo Mykonos! Franzi, ihre Famile und Freunde werden von Mykonos mit Sonne, Hitze und engen Gassen willkommen. Auch die Griechen empfangen die Truppe herzlich im Hotel. Erholsame Tage mit viel Sonne, Strand und auch ein bisschen Party – wir sind schliesslich in Mykonos – stehen bevor.Das Hotel ist nett, der Strand süss und der Swimming Pool erfrischend. Ein Paar erholsame Stunden werden hier verbracht. Aber natürlich möchten Franzi und ihre Familie auch Mykonos Town und die Insel erkunden. Ein Jeep wird gebucht, und Tagestrips zu verschiedenen Plätzen der Insel werden unternommen – vor allem aber zu Ständen. Mykonos ist perfekt für Beachhopping.
Sonne, Hitze und Ausflüge rufen Hunger und Dusrt hervor. Und…das Essen auf der Insel ist gut. Ein Highlight, wie Franzi mir erzählt, sind die Dumbo-Shrimps. Das Restaurant ist ein echter Insider und ein Besuch hier, wenn man schon in Mykonos Town ist sollte auf jeden Fall eingeplant werden. Mykonos Town versprüht den typisch griechischen Flair: Weisse Häuser mit blauen Türen und Fenstern, engen Strässchen aus Steinen und überall Künstler und schöne Handwerke.
Ein ganz klares “must-visit» für einen Cocktail ist Little Venice. Farbige Häuser reihen sich aneinander und in jedem der Häuser befinden sich elegante Baren und Restaurants. Der perfekte Platz um den Sonnenuntergang anzuschauen und an einem Cocktail zu nippen… Natürlich darf auch die Party in Mykonos nicht vergessen werden. Einige der grossen Parties steigen im Paradiese Beach. Hier knallen einige Korken in der Nacht (und nicht nur in der Nacht).
Man muss zugeben, die Lokalitäten und Plätze, die Mykonos zu bieten hat, sind definitiv sehr hübsch, und die Griechen äusserts freundliche Gastgeber. Zudem ist die Chance auf der Insel hoch, dass man dem ein oder anderen bekannten Gesicht über den Weg läuft…
Wie auch immer, nach einigen Drinks am Abend ist Strand die genau richtige Option für den nächsten Morgen. Und mit der Starlight bag ist Franzi natürlich immer vorbereitet.
